Due to overwhelming audience demand, WaterTower Theatre's production of Grey Gardens has added an additional weekend of performances. Tickets for these performances, scheduled for October 28 - November 1, are currently on-sale in the box office.
"Grey Gardens has exceeded all our expectations," says Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin. "It has been a joy to produce such an entertaining work, especially one that has been embraced by audiences and critics alike. I have to give credit to our outstanding cast and a talented production team for making a success like this possible."
Behind the closed doors of a dilapidated mansion, alongside fifty cats and piles of rubbish, live Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter "Little Edie" - the eccentric relatives of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Go inside the walls of two shockingly different worlds: the resplendent Grey Gardens of 1941 and the Grey Gardens of 1973 - a crumbling shadow of its former self. Based upon the groundbreaking documentary film by David and Albert Maysles, Grey Gardens is the hilarious and heartbreaking story of two women whose combative and codependent relationship is the one pillar in a constantly eroding house.
Directed by Martin, the critically-acclaimed production features Diana Sheehan, Pam Dougherty and Kimberly Whalen as Edith and Edie Bouvier Beale. Rounding out the cast are Dani Altshuler, R Bruce Elliott, Gary Floyd, Kaylee King, Matt Moore, and Kenne Sparks. Scenic design is by Christopher Pickart; lighting design is by Susan White. Costume design is by Aaron Patrick Turner.
Grey Gardens will run through November 1 at the Addison Theatre Centre, which is located at 15650 Addison Road in Addison, Texas. Performance times are Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 PM, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM, and Sundays at 2:00 PM. Ticket prices range from $20 - $30. Tickets are available by calling the WTT Box Office at 972.450.6232 or online at www.watertowertheatre.org. Group rates are also available.
