WaterTower Theatre Announces New Education Program THE TOM SAWYER PROJECT

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced a new education program called THE Tom Sawyer PROJECT. The program is designed to involve Dallas County High School Students in their own production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer which WaterTower Theatre is producing January 24 - Feb., 16, 2014. High School students from DISD Schools will be able to audition for all the roles in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and, under the direction of Kelsey Ervi, will produce their own production of the play. The students will be able to attend the rehearsals of the play by the Company's professional actors. The professional actors and creative team will provide mentorship for the student actors. There are 8 roles to be filled and one technical position. Students must be between the ages of 14 - 18 years old.

Auditions will be held on November 2nd from 10 am to 1 pm with call backs 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at WaterTower Theatre.

The student production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer will be held on February 4 and 11, 2014 at WaterTower Theatre. Tickets to the performance will be $10 in advance or Pay What You Can at the door. The performances will be open to the general public. Rehearsals will take place in January in the evenings and on weekends.
