JULY 2011- WaterTower Theatre's SUMMER PERFORMING ARTS CONSERVATORY
Date: Monday, July 18 - Friday, July 29, 2011
Schedule/Times: 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday
WaterTower Theatre offers a two-week Summer Conservatory for children and youth in theatre. The summer camp is a program taught by industry professionals and offers students classes in acting, voice, dance, musical theatre and more.
The Summer Performing Arts Conservatory goes beyond the traditional idea of a summer camp with a unique, non-competitive, nurturing program that caters to students who want to immerse themselves in all aspects of theatre arts.
Classes are taught by highly skilled professionals and offer an intimate classroom setting - guaranteeing that each student receives the individual attention necessary to learn theatre skills as well as life skills - confidence, self-esteem and a love of creativity.
Classes for younger participants include acting, audition technique, dance, voice, and art.
Older children will explore techniques in scene study, playwriting, Shakespeare, improvisation, stage make-up, musical theatre, dance, costume design, voice, audition technique, and film.
Each session culminates in a "Showcase Presentation" for family and friends highlighting skills and techniques acquired during classes.
Scholarships and payment plans are available.
Tuition cost per student: $500
