WaterTower Theatre Managing Director Greg Patterson and Associate Artistic Director Kelsey Leigh Ervi today announced casting and creative team details for Sister's Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi's Gold, Directed by Marc Silvia, with Musical Direction by Mark Mullino. Making her WaterTower Theatre debut in Sister's Christmas Catechism will be Nonie Newton Riley. This hilarious holiday special is presented in association with Entertainment Events Inc., New York City, NY, and runsDecember 2- 23, 2016 in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. This special holiday production is sponsored, in part, by Frost Bank.

It's "CSI: Bethlehem" in this holiday mystery extravaganza, from the author of Late Nite Catechism, as Sister takes on the mystery that has intrigued historians throughout the ages - whatever happened to the Magi's gold? With gifts galore and bundles of laughs, Sister's Christmas Catechism is sure to become the newest addition to your holiday traditions. WaterTower Theatre's production of Sister's Christmas Catechism will feature Nonie Newton Riley (formerly Breen), as the outrageous nun Sister, and a special appearance by vocalist and local talent Sarah Elizabeth Price.

The creative team, in addition to Director Marc Silvia and Musical Director Mark Mullino, includes Catherine Evans (Costume Designer), Clay Van Winkle (Lighting Designer), Caron Gitelman Grant (Stage Manager) and Monika Zimmerman (Assistant Stage Manager).

About the Playwright:

Maripat Donovan, Playwright

Maripat originated the role of Sister in Late Nite Catechism and has toured internationally, receiving rave reviews for her work in Chicago, Boston, Providence, New York, Toronto, Philadelphia, Seattle, Portland, London, and Dublin. She has worked in Chicago theatre for more than 20 years, winning Joseph Jefferson citations for her work in Portrait of a Shiksa and The Good Times are Killing Me. For her work in Late Nite Catechism, she was nominated for the coveted Outer Critics Circle Award in New York for Outstanding Solo Performances. She won the Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Solo Performance in Los Angeles.

About the Musical Director:

MARK MULLINO, Musical Director

Mark has worked extensively throughout the Metroplex and the United States as a musical director and actor. Locally, Mark has musical directed / conducted at WaterTower Theatre, Dallas Theater Center, Uptown Players, Plano Repertory Theater, Lyric Stage, Labyrinth Theater, Collin Theatre Center and Theatre Arlington. Mark has received numerous Column Awards and Leon Rabin Awards and nominations. In addition to musical directing / acting, Mark plays piano for the weekly Cabaret show "Mama's Party", teaches musical theatre at KD College and Collin College, maintains a private studio and is an artiSt. Mark is the President and co-founder of Dallas Young Artists. Mark received his Bachelors in Music from Hardin-Simmons University.

About the Cast:

NONIE NEWTON RILEY (BREEN), Sister

Nonie hails from a large Irish-Catholic mob in Chicago, honing her comedy skills at the dinner table then later at Chicago's famed Second City Theatre where she learned to "write on her feet" for several years. She played three seasons at the Green Mountain Guild in Vermont, toured clubs and colleges in the South with plays and later the improvisation group, The Reification Company. She enjoyed a two year run in Jerry Mayer's Aspirin & Elephants at the Santa Monica Playhouse. Nonie earned an Emmy for writing and performingOh, Art! for PBS in Chicago. She has appeared in soaps, sit-coms, and hidden camera shows. Television writing credits include Candid Camera, CBS' Say What, Late Date, and The Barkers. The last thirteen years, Nonie has proudly toured the country in the one-womanLate Nite Catechism plays. There are seven different plays in the series and she does them all! She has performed them at The Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, The Laguna Beach Playhouse, Pasadena Playhouse, the Coronet in Hollywood, La Mirada, Olney Theatre in Maryland, Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, the Lyric in Stuart, Florida, Proctor Theatre in Schenectady, the Majestic-Empire in San Antonio, Texas, the Kirkland Center in Washington, Eisemann Center in Dallas, and the Wilson Center in Jacksonville, to name a few. She was nominated for a Wilde Award in Detroit for best solo performance 2011 for Will My Bunny Go to Heaven, the Easter Catechism show at Gem Theatre. Nonie wrote and performed her own show I'd Rather Walk at the Lyric in Stuart, FL, in 2010. Her "Sister" writes original roasts for corporate and private events. She happily dedicates this show to Sister Regina Therese, her fifth grade nun, who whacked her frequently - usually for a very good reason.

SARAH Elizabeth Price, Vocalist

Sarah is grateful to be returning to the WaterTower Theatre stage! Previous WTT credits include Creep, Bonnie & Clyde, and Putting it Together. Sarah will also be appearing on the WaterTower Theatre stage in the spring as Lucille Frank in Parade in Concert. Other Regional credits include Ordinary Days (Our Productions); The Boy from Oz (Uptown Players); Camelot (Lyric Stage); and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (Wishing Star Productions, National Tour).
