Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced that WaterTower Theatre has added a new program to its multi-dimensional education and community outreach efforts with the addition of new Saturday Morning Theatre Classes for children. The 8-week session of classes will begin September 28 and run through November 16, 2013 every Saturday morning from 9 am to 12 noon. The classes are targeted to children in grades 1 through 6. The cost of the class is $250 per student.
This new program will provide an introduction to theatre and different cultures around the world. The classes will cover such areas as creative dramatics, improvisation, pantomime, script work, rhythm exercises, theatre techniques and terms, stage directions, enunciation and projection. The students will learn helpful tools for public speaking, individual creativity, team work and listening skills.
The Saturday morning classes will be conducted by Kim Borge.
