Theatre Three Artistic Director Jeffrey Schmidt has announced details about its upcoming all-star fundraising performance of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. On Valentine's Day evening, Wednesday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m., the long-running Theatre Three production will move upstairs to the Norma Young Arena Stage for a one-night-only performance featuring returning cast members from all eighteen previous productions. All tickets are $75 and are on sale now at the Theatre Three box office (theatre3dallas.com/214-871-3300, option 1). Theatre Three is located in the Quadrangle in Uptown Dallas (2800 Routh Street, Ste #168, Dallas, TX 75201).
Since its Theatre Three premiere in September 2000, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change has featured a cavalcade of Dallas-Fort Worth actors. Returning for the special performance will be original cast members Ashley Wood, Carrie Slaughter and Linda Leonard, as well as former cast members Sally Soldo, Amy Mills, Doug Jackson, Sonny Franks, Bradley Campbell, Lisa J. Miller, Jason Villarreal and Trey West. Cast members of the current eighteenth annual production (Aaron Jay Green, Greg Hullett, Janelle Lutzand Liz J. Millea) now running in Theatre Too, will also perform.
With book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, this celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum know as "the relationship." Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting for love and marriage while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws, newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the "seasoned citizen" set.
This starry fundraiser will be dedicated to the memory of Theatre Three's late Music Director and Company Manager Terry Dobson, the original director of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Theatre Three hopes to use funds to buy a new piano (with a plaque for Mr. Dobson). Additional proceeds will go to Theatre Three's Annual Fund which is used to underwrite general support needs of the theatre, including all costs to the theatre such as artist salaries, administrative and operational overhead, materials and supplies.
The Valentine's Day performance of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change will be presented on the Norma Young Arena Stage, an ADA-accessible space. Mobility challenged patrons and those with specific needs are encouraged to call the box office at 214-871-3300, extension one.
