Theatre Frisco is excited to be presenting the Tony Award winning musical, Man of La Mancha, with book by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion, music by Mitch Leigh. Inspired by the 17th century Spanish novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes, we watch Cervantes himself tell a story while imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition. Our story within a story follows Don Quixote de La Mancha and his squire Sancho Panza battle evil and fights for his love, his Dulcinea.
DFW actress and Column Award nominee, Rebecca Paige, will be taking on the role of Aldonza/Dulcinea, joined by Darret Hart as Cervantes/Don Quixote, Shane Hurst as Sancho Panza, and Mike Spitters as Padre. Theatre Frisco is excited to see Paige and Hart return to the stage together to tell this classical story. Both performers appeared in last summers production of Evita with Paige as the title role, Eva "Evita" Perón and Hart as Juan Perón. Director, Neale Whitmore, stated, "I am very happy with the dramatic increase with the quality of talent and number of seasoned actors that audition that we've seen at Theatre Frisco over the past few years, it gives me lots of excellent choices for casting. That has translated into better audiences that are coming from all over the Metroplex, and beyond".
Man of La Mancha performances will be at The Black Box Theatre in the Frisco Discover Center August 3rd - 19th. Performances will be Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays with both matinees and evening shows available. WARNING: This show does contain violence that may be too intense for children under 13.
