Theatre Arlington's 43rd anniversary season continues with this enchanting holiday gift for all ages. Irving Berlin's White Christmas, based on the beloved 1954 film, takes the audience back to simpler times as World War II veterans and best friends, Bob Wallace and Phil Davis create a successful song-and-dance act. With romance in the air, they follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. Join Bob, Phil and The Haynes Sisters as they do what it takes to help the commander keep his lodge in business. Delightful musical theatre escapades ensue all set to the dazzling score, featuring well-known favorites such as Blue Skies, Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep, Sisters and, of course, the cherished melody, White Christmas. The stage version of this film classic was first presented on the stage in 2004 and then later made its way to Broadway in 2008. The original stage director, Walter Bobbie, said of the production, this is "A world of uncomplicated friendships and simple, open feelings. It's the world of everyone's inner Christmas, where Scrooges are transformed and true love comes wrapped as a gift and snow falls when it's supposed to."
