Next up at The Firehouse Theatre - The Fantasticks opens June 3rd and runs through June 19th. The Fantasticks is a 1960 musical with music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones. The show's original off-Broadway production ran a total of 42 years and 17,162 performances, making it the world's longest-running musical. With memorable songs like "Try to Remember" and "Soon It's Gonna Rain", this nostalgic show is not one to miss!
The Firehouse Theatre is excited to have Director Adam Hester, who serves as the chair of the ACU Theatre in Abilene, on board for this production. He is joined by Rebecca Lowrey as music director who was most recently seen directing the onstage band for Thoroughly Modern Millie this season. Cast includes Shannon Walsh (Mute and Choreographer), Wyn Delano (El Gallo), Jonathan David Steffins (Matt), Nicole Neely (Luisa), Russell Vaden (Hucklebee), David Tinney (Bellomy), Gordon Fox (Henry) and Michael Stafford (Mortimer).
The show will officially open on Friday, June 3rd at 7:30pm, followed immediately by a post-show reception. Performances will continue through June 19th on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30pm.
