Did you know the Bishop Arts Theatre Center impacts thousands of children each year through year round arts education programs?
Our Baby Bishop early childhood education classes provides a safe environment each week for toddlers to develop emotional, social, physical and mental skills. Preschoolers learn how to share, cooperate, and persevere in a diverse setting guided by expert instructors.
During the summer we teach music, art, dance, theatre, and life skills during our cultural enrichment camp. Grade school students work alongside master teaching artists during an eight-week intensive, and the program culminates with a showcase by the students.
Our TNT (Teenagers and Theatre) apprenticeship program is a partnership with the Dallas County Juvenile Department and Greiner Arts Magnet students where participants study classical text during a six week period. A peer-to-peer mentorship is an organic part of the process where the primary goal is to reduce the rate of recidivism.
We are more than a performing arts venue, the Bishop Arts Theatre is a neighborhood resource center for the community. We ask that you consider to give time, give money or give tickets to a deserving student who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience a professional theatre production. Our holiday performance of Black Nativity by Langston Hughes is among the Dallas Morning News Best Bets again this year and is suitable for all ages. Any gift or donation amount will be greatly appreciated and your gift is tax-deductible.
