Single tickets for Dallas Theater Center's one-of-a-kind outdoor production of Electra are on sale Jan. 5, and available for purchase at www.DallasTheaterCenter.org or 214-880-0202. Electra begins April 4 and runs through May 21 in the unique venue of AT&T Performing Arts Center's Annette Strauss Artist Square.

"I'm eager for audiences to experience Electra in a production that will be unlike any Dallas Theater Center has previously produced," said DTC's Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty. "The audience will gather outside at nighttime, under cover of darkness, and will move to several outdoor stage areas where they will experience this powerful story. Wearing individual headphones, each audience member will have both a shared, live experience and a singular, personal experience, as they experience the story unfolding in front of them, alternating with moments when an unseen Greek chorus quietly speaks directly into their ears. I look forward to bringing audiences a truly unique and thrilling theatrical experience."

Written by Sophocles, and adapted and directed by Moriarty, Electra is a Greek tragedy blended with the unique outdoor theater experience of immersive theater. Electra's mother murdered her father, and Electra just can't let it go. With the return of her brother Orestes, the siblings seek justice in this tale of familial betrayal. Building on DTC's breathtaking approaches to Greek tragedies (Oedipus el Rey, Medea), expect the unexpected in this one-of-a-kind production that will take the audience on a journey through the grounds of AT&T Performing Arts Center's Annette Strauss Artist Square. Observe intimate scenes between characters while hearing commentary about the play's meaning through individual headphones that will be provided for each audience member, creating an experience that is simultaneously both public and private.

Tickets start at $20 and are available at www.DallasTheaterCenter.org or 214-880-0202. Casting information will be released at a later date.
