Shakespeare Dallas announces it is the recipient of a $20,000 grant by The Dallas Foundation, Dallas' oldest community foundation serving donors and nonprofit agencies throughout North Texas. The Board of Governors of The Dallas Foundation has overall awarded $1.16 million in grants from the organization's Community Impact Fund. The grants support local needs ranging from the arts to health to human services.

"We are proud of the organizations selected this year to receive grants from the Community Impact Fund," said Mary Jalonick, president and CEO of The Dallas Foundation. "They represent some of the best, most effective work happening in North Texas' nonprofit field."

The Dallas Foundation has awarded 28 grants in total for 2017. For Shakespeare Dallas, the grant will go to support lighting and sound equipment upgrades. "Shakespeare Dallas has been performing for North Texas audiences for more than 45 years, bringing quality programming inspired by the works of William Shakespeare to diverse audiences all over," said Raphael Parry, Executive and Artistic Director of Shakespeare Dallas. "We are grateful to The Dallas Foundation for recognizing the work we do, and the contribution we make in the community. The money from this grant is important for helping us continue to provide an outstanding, yet fun experience for our audiences, and to maintain the quality of the work we deliver for each performance."
