Rover Dramawerks is pleased to present the revival of the critical and audience favorite, Morphic Resonance by Katherine Burger. This exciting beginning to their 11th Season opens on Thursday, October 28. Performances will be at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 H Avenue in Plano (next to the Courtyard Theater), continuing through November 20, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., and an additional matinee performance on Saturday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m.
Cleome, an acerbic New York writer (played by Caitlin Mills), finds banter easier than love, whether with her father (played by Manuel Cruz) or her noncommittal lover, Wallace (played by Joe Cucinotti). While Cleome's and Wallace's relationship flounders, their best friends Alice and Jim (played by Amy Wells and Nic Pfost) fall head over heels. Alice's diagnosis with cancer sets in sharp contrast the things we fear and the things we fear to lose. Both comical and moving, Morphic Resonance is a classic metaphor for learning together that which may be impossible for us to know as individuals.
Rover Dramawerks' founder and Artistic Director Carol M. Rice directs, with Jessica Amspoker as Assistant Director/Stage Manager and Larry Jansson as choreographer. Dave Tenney is set designer, Michael B. Moore is costume designer, and Laura Sosnowski is properties designer. Jason Rice is sound designer and Brooks Powers is lighting designer, with Dane Gunther running the lights and sound boards.
Tickets for Morphic Resonance are $16.00 on Thursdays and matinees and $20.00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Thursday, October 28 is Preview Night, and all seats are "pay-what-you-can." On Saturday, October 30, Rover Dramawerks invites all patrons to a reception after the performance with the cast, director, and designers, as well as Rover board members.
Following the show on Saturdays, November 6 and 13 at 10:30 p.m., Rover Late Night will present Graphic Novelties - staged readings of classic comic books. Free to anyone attending Morphic Resonance that night, otherwise, just $5.Morphic Resonance is the first show in Rover Dramawerks' 11th Season.
