Rover Dramawerks presents the nightmarish thriller Boy Gets Girl by Rebecca Gilman at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1509 H Avenue in Plano. Performances are tonight, February 28 through March 23, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., with an additional matinee performance on Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m.

Theresa Bedell (played by Kim Winnubst) is a successful reporter in New York who agrees to go on a blind date with a friend of a friend. Tony (played by Ross Miller) is attractive and funny, but after a second date she's convinced they have nothing in common and sees no point in continuing the relationship. Tony, though, thinks otherwise, and it quickly becomes apparent that he is unstable and Theresa has had the misfortune to become his latest obsession.

Boy Gets Girl examines the living nightmare of stalking, sexism and the nature of the idea of romantic pursuit in this somber, grown-up play about a very real and dangerous phenomenon. Rebecca Gilman also penned Rover's popular production of The Crowd You're in With two seasons ago.

Rounding out the ensemble cast are Mark C. Guerra, Jade Reyes, Jennifer Stoneking, Walt Threlkeld, and Ben Westfried.

Rebecca McDonald directs and designs the sound, with Sarah Barnes as Assistant Director/Stage Manager. Set and lighting design is by Cameron Hefty, costumes are by Ryan Matthieu Smith, and props are by Natalia Borja. Due to subject matter and language, Boy Gets Girl is not recommended for children.

Tickets for Boy Gets Girl are $16.00 on Thursdays and matinee and $20.00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Thursday, February 28 is Preview Night, and all seats are "pay-what-you-can." Following this preview performance, there will also be a talk-back with the cast and director about the play.

Following the performances on Fridays, March 1, 8, 15 and 22 at 10:30 p.m., Rover Late Night is pleased to bring back Graphic Novelties. This installment of our popular comic book re-enactments is the Batman/Joker showdown, The Killing Joke. Free to anyone attending Boy Gets Girl that night, otherwise, just $5.00.

Tickets may be ordered online at www.roverdramawerks.com. For more information, call 972-849-0358.
