It's 1942, and two of Hollywood's biggest divas (played by Melissa Couture and Heather Walker Shin) have descended upon the luxurious Palm Beach Royale Hotel with assistants (DeWayne Blundell and Latreshia Lilly), luggage...and legendary feud in tow. Even with members of the Navy diving out of the fourth floor windows into the swimming pool and running maneuvers in the lobby, everything seems to be in order for their wartime benefit performance. That is, until they are somehow assigned to the same suite, to the dismay of the hotel manager (Kenneth Fulenwider) and the delight of the press (Veronica Day). Mistaken identities, overblown egos, double entendres, and a lap dog named Mr. Boodles round out this riotous love note to the classic farces of the 30s and 40s. The talented ensemble cast also includes Kelly Moore Clarkson, Louis D. Hall, and Henry Okigbo.
Carol M. Rice serves as director, with Phineas Bennett as Stage Manager. Set design is by Bill Parr with lighting design by Maxim Overton and sound design by Jason Rice. Costumes are by Samantha Grace with hair and makeup by Shanna Gobin. Props are by Lindsey Humphries, and Rhonda Durant provides fight choreography. Shelby Gilliland will also be assisting with various aspects of the show as Rover's 2015 Texas Nonprofit Theatres intern.
