Rover Dramawerks will present the comedy More Fun Than Bowling by Steven Dietz, opening on Thursday, October 27. Performances will be at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 H Avenue in Plano (next to the Courtyard Theater), continuing through November 19, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., plus an additional matinee performance on Saturday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m.

If sport is a metaphor for life, a parallel of all things physical and metaphysical, then Jake's life is a 7-10 split. Whether being his own boss in a backwater bowling alley or curbing his daughter's attempts to help him find romance, his days are a dichotomy of life's certainties and death's mysteries, of perfect bowling form and disastrous marriages. He's a quintessential nobody, yet shadowed by a mysterious man with an attaché cuffed to his wrist. More Fun Than Bowling is a hilarious comedy by the author of Rover's past hit, Private Eyes.

Francis "Hank" Henry plays Jake, with Kaitlyn Werner as his daughter Molly. Kelly Moore Clarkson and Jennifer Duggins play two of Jake's wives, and Samuel Jang is the mysterious Mr. Dyson. The show is directed by Rover regular, Jason Rice, who also serves as sound designer, with Zoelyn Copeland as Assistant Director/Stage Manager. Abigail Kipp is set designer, Alyssa Miller is costume designer, Michael Campbell is lighting designer, and Alexandra Cook is properties designer.

More Fun Than Bowling is the first show in Rover Dramawerks' 12th Season. Tickets are $16.00 on Thursdays and matinees and $20.00 on Fridays and Saturdays and may be ordered online at www.roverdramawerks.com. Thursday, October 27 is Preview Night, and all seats are "pay-what-you-can" at the door. Season ticket packages are also available for the 12th Season.

Season sponsors include the City of Plano and Texas Commission on the Arts. For more information, please call 972-849-0358 or visit www.roverdramawerks.com.
