Rover Dramawerks opens the classic drama Days of Wine and Roses by J.P. Miller on Thu., Jun. 4 thru Jun. 27 at the Cox Building Playhouse, located at 1517 H Ave. in Plano (next to the Courtyard Theater). Shows will take place Thu-Sat at 8 pm with an additional matinee performance on Sat. Jun. 13 at 2 pm.

Made famous by the Academy Award winning film, this is the unfiltered exploration of a love triangle between two people and booze. Joe and Kirsten (played by Jim Croall of Roanoke and Heather Hill of Dallas) fall in love over social drinking that becomes a habit too hard to break.

What happens to a relationship based on such a liquid foundation? Their denial leads to shattering events - but ultimately the proof of the human spirit may be stronger than what's in the bottle.

Rounding out The Ensemble cast are James Prince of Wylie, Greg Hullett of Mesquite, Lexy Coulonge of Allen, and Dana Harrison and Erik Knapp of Richardson.

Lisa Devine of Dallas directs, with Robin Coulonge of Allen as Assistant Director/Stage Manager and properties designer.  John Pszyk of Wylie is set designer, with Bill McGonnell of Plano as sound designer.  Joslyn Justus of Dallas is costume designer and Dawn M. Wittke of Carrollton is lighting designer.

Lisa Devine, a Joseph Jefferson Award (Chicago) winning director, will follow Days of Wine and Roses with directing Eye of God for Theatre East, an off-Broadway theatre in New York City, in fall 2009.

Tickets for Days of Wine and Roses are $15.00 on Thursdays and matinees and $18.00 on Fridays and Saturdays. On Thu., Jun. 11, Rover Dramawerks invites all patrons to join the cast at the ArtCentre of Plano (three blocks down from the theatre) after the show for a reception with the cast, director, and designers, as well as Rover board members.

Days of Wine and Roses is the fourth show in Rover Dramawerks' 2008-09 Season.  Season sponsors include the City of Plano, Plano Arts and Cultural Endowment, Texas Commission on the Arts, the City of Richardson, and Haggard Property Group, Ltd
