Sandwich Theatre will hold auditions for 2 of their holiday shows:

October 1 and October 2 "EBENEZER SCROOGE"
Written by Joe Dickinson Music by Laurie Tirmenstein
Open auditions for the Pocket Sandwich Theatre's annual Christmas production of "Ebenezer Scrooge" will be held on Saturday, October 1, from 10:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M., and Sunday, October 2, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. All youngsters (15 and younger) will be auditioned from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 1. The auditions will be held at the theatre, 5400 East Mockingbird Lane, Suite 119 in Mockingbird Central Plaza, one block east of Central Expressway.
"Ebenezer Scrooge" is a musical version of the Dickens' classic, "A Christmas Carol", written by Joe Dickinson and Laurie Tirmenstein. This is its 35th consecutive year as the Pocket Sandwich Theatre's Christmas show. The play is to be directed by Stephanie Jackson. The twenty actors in the play will portray over fifty characters. There are parts for seven men and seven women, ages late teens to mid-60s, and for three boys and three girls, ages eight to sixteen. The roles of Ebenezer Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Present have been cast. Readings will be from the script for the older actors; the young actors (10 and younger) may bring a short monologue (or poem or story) no longer than 2-3 minutes to recite. Those auditioning should bring sheet music of a classic Broadway song or Christmas song, no A cappella, showing range and anticipating performing 16 bars. An accompanist will be provided. Rehearsals will begin immediately after casting, and will be held on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. The show will open on November 24 with an invited audience dress rehearsal (Pocket Sandwich Theatre's 36th Anniversary!) and runs through December 23. Ordinarily, the Pocket's shows run Thursday through Sunday. For this show, however, extra evening shows will be on December 14, 20 and 21. Matinee performances have been added at 1:00 on Sunday, December 11 and 18. Actors are paid a "stipend" (theater talk for "not very much") but you'll have the time of your life! The auditions are by appointment, which can be made by calling (214) 821-1860.
