Cleburne's Plaza Theatre Company (PTC) is holding auditions for the Woody Allen comedy Don't Drink The Water on Mon., Jun. 8 from 7-10 pm at their theater, located at 111 S. Main St., Cleburne, Texas. Callbacks will be held on Wed., Jun. 10 at 7 pm.
Directed by Kevin Poole, Don't Drink The Water is a story about Walter Hollander, an American tourist and caterer from New Jersey who finds himself suspected of espionage behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, along with his wife and daughter as Walter takes pictures in a restricted area while testing out his new photography hobby.
Given asylum at the American Embassy, they plot their escape in the midst of some rather colorful characters unable to assist them. Meanwhile, their daughter unexpectedly falls in love with the ambassador's son. A political farce of the highest degree, Don't Drink The Water is slapstick comedy at its best.
