A fresh and exciting 2008 Tony Award winner from singer-songwriter and performance artist Stew, Passing Strange embarks on a journey across boundaries of place, identity and theatrical convention. The musical tells the story of a young bohemian who charts a course for "the real" through sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Passing Strange is directed by vickie washington with musical directon by Pam Holcomb-McLain and choreography by Jamie Thompson. The musical stars Calvin Scott Roberts (Narrator), Darren McElroy (Youth) and Nikka Morton (Mother), Ayanna Edwards (Edwina/Marianna/Sudabey),Cam Kirkpatrick (Franklin/Joop/Venus), Quintin Jones (Terry/Christoph/Hugo) and Cherish Robinson (Sherry/Renata/Desi). Roberts can currently be seen in the cast of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change-running downstairs in Theatre Too through February 12-and was recently seen onstage at Theatre Three in Memphis.
