A fresh and exciting 2008 Tony Award winner from singer-songwriter and performance artist Stew, Passing Strange embarks on a journey across boundaries of place, identity and theatrical convention. The musical tells the story of a young bohemian who charts a course for "the real" through sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Infectious, exhilarating, deeply spiritual and emotional, audiences will never forget Passing Strange!

Passing Strange is directed by vickie washington with musical directon by Pam Holcomb-McLain and choreography by Jamie Thompson. The musical stars Calvin Scott Roberts (Narrator), Darren McElroy (Youth) and Nikka Morton (Mother), Ayanna Edwards (Edwina/Marianna/Sudabey),Cam Kirkpatrick (Franklin/Joop/Venus), Quintin Jones (Terry/Christoph/Hugo) and Cherish Robinson (Sherry/Renata/Desi). Roberts can currently be seen in the cast of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change-running downstairs in Theatre Too through February 12-and was recently seen onstage at Theatre Three in Memphis.
