Circle Theatre, a professional, regional theatre company in Sundance Square, will preview Picasso at the Lapin Agile, by Steve Martin, on Thursday, September 24; Friday, September 25; and Saturday, September 26 (matinee). The production officially opens Saturday evening, September 26, at 8:00pm. A post-show opening night party will follow the performance.

After the success of Bus Stop in 2006, Circle theatre is again teaming up with Texas Christian University for this second co-production. Picasso at the Lapin Agile will feature TCU students and faculty, as well as professional actors. Harry Parker, chair of TCU's theatre department, will direct the show. Earlier this season, Parker directed Circle's hit show, Hail Mary!

Set in an historic Parisian bar, the ridiculous and the sublime intersect in this unique comedy about a chance encounter between Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso. Their random meeting occurs just before the two young geniuses reach "star" status for their contributions to science and art. (Adult Content)

Picasso at the Lapin Agile features Elizabeth Annunziato - (The Countess); Sydney Baumgart - (Suzanne), David Coffee* - (Gaston); Eric Dobbins - (A Visitor); Jennifer Engler - Germaine; David Fluitt* - Freddy; Daniel Fredrick - Einstein; Andrew Milbourn - Picasso; Paul Taylor* - Sagot; Scott Moffitt - Schmendiman; and Alyssa Wall - A Female Admirer.

Harry Parker states, "Steve Martin has written an exceptional play that is both hilarious and thoughtful, rather like the playwright himself! I have long wanted to direct this play and I'm delighted to be doing so in a co-production between Circle Theatre and Theatre TCU, because it's filled with colorful characters of all ages. This promises to be a very memorable production!"
