Theatre Wesleyan will present the 63rd annual musical and winner of three Tony Awards: URINETOWN - The Musical for one weekend only beginning April 20. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
URINETOWN is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theatre itself! Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, URINETOWN provides a fresh perspective of one of America's greatest art forms.
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
The cast includes: Raied Makhamreh (Officer Lockstock), Michelle Phillips (Penelope Pennywise), Trey Cardona (Bobby Strong), Kimberly Owen (Little Sally), John Traxler (Dr. Billeaux), Gabe Crowley (Mr. McQueen), Tyler Guse (Senator Fipp), Kevin Dawson (Officer Barrel), Kaitlin McGehee (Hope Cladwell), Tobin Griffin (Old Man Strong), Tristen Brown (Tiny Tom), Holli Price (Soupy Sue), Alli Perez (Little Becky Two Shoes), Torris Curry (Robby The Stockfish), Richard Givans (Caldwell B. Cladwell), Amanda Fitzgerald (Josephine Strong), Akira Owens (Mrs. Millennium), and Alfredo Tamayo (Hot Blades Harry). The ensemble includes: Emily Gordon, Abbie Hancock, Malik Offor, and Crystal Salazar.
