Theatre Three welcomes the annual return engagement of its New Year's staple I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change from December 29, 2016 to February 12, 2017 in the downstairs Theatre Too space. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast onstage below!
With book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, this celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum know as "the relationship." Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws, newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the "seasoned citizen" set.
Now in its seventeenth year, this annual production receives a bright, newly reinvigorated staging by director B.J. Cleveland, who heroically stepped into the cast of last year's production of this show with less than four rehearsals, after another cast member suffered an injury. Cleveland has also appeared onstage at Theatre Too in the long-running comedy Shear Madness and the one-man play A Christmas Carol: The Radio Show, which he just revived this holiday season at Theatre Too. The cast of I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change includes Janelle lutz, Calvin Scott Roberts, Trey West and Allison Bret.
"This show has withstood the test of time and is still as relevant today as when it debuted at Theatre Three 17 years ago," says Cleveland. "I am excited to bring an all new cast to this year's production with revitalized staging and a fresh look at the material."
