Performing Arts Fort Worth welcomes CHICAGO THE MUSICAL to Bass Performance Hall, where the Tony Award-winning show will razzle-dazzle audiences this weekend, April 3-4. Tickets are $49.50-$121 and are on sale NOW.

Dallas native Dylis Croman stars in the leading role as Roxie Hart. A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Croman has performed in CHICAGO THE MUSICAL on Broadway and also SWEET CHARITY, FOSSE and OKLAHOMA!

With a legendary book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, CHICAGO is now the No. 1 longest-running American musical, and on Sunday, Nov 23, 2014, it became the second longest-running show in Broadway history! Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, CHICAGO is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Revival; it also won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording.

Set amidst the decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who maliciously murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.

The national tour is directed by David Hyslop and choreographed by David Bushman. Walter Bobbie is the director of the original New York production and Ann Reinking was the original choreographer in the style of Bob Fosse. CHICAGO features set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Ken Billington and sound design by Scott Lehrer. The production also features orchestrations by Ralph Burns, supervising music direction by Rob Fisher.

In addition to Croman, the cast includes Roz Ryan (Matron "Mama" Morton), Terra C. MacLeod (Velma Kelly), Brent Barrett (Billy Flynn), D. Ratell (Mary Sunshine) and Jacob Keith Watson (Amos Hart).

Performance times are 7:30pm Friday, April 3; and 1:30 and 7:30pm Saturday, April 4. To charge tickets by phone, call (817) 212-4280 in Fort Worth; 1-877-212-4280 (toll free) outside Fort Worth; or order online at www.basshall.com. Tickets are also available at the Bass Performance Hall ticket office at 525 Commerce Street. Ticket office hours: Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. For group sales, call 817-212-4248.
