McKinney Youth Theatre (MYT) is pleased to announce the promotion of Hollie Hongosh to the position of Managing Director. Hollie has been a director with Plano Children's Theatre, McKinney Youth Theatre and Frisco Youth Theatre for the past three years. The Managing Director is a new position created to nurture the recent growth of the theatre. Executive Director Sara Akers is excited about her promotion. She says, "Hollie's students and parents love her. I love her inventive use of sets, props to create an enjoyable production. Her enthusiasm for new programs and ability to bring volunteers together will make McKinney Youth Theatre a place for all children."
Prior to joining Plano Children's Theatre in 2011, Hollie was the Youth Program Manager at Olmsted Performing Arts in Cleveland, OH. Hollie attended Wittenberg University (Springfield, OH) and was awarded a degree in International Business, French, and Operatic Vocal Performance. She also toured nationally with the acclaimed Wittenberg choir. Hollie also has many years of experience providing private voice, dance, acting, and modeling lessons. She say, "I am joining a team of talented parents and professionals who share the same vision to see that the theatre is part of changing lives. I am thrilled to be representing McKinney and leading the team toward the unique challenge of growing the program. Our job will be to make a high quality, available, inclusive, nurturing, and instrumental children's theatre to all citizens in McKinney, and I cannot wait to be the one to do it."
Hollie will be charged with creating theatre's annual program and managing the day to day operations. She comes on board at a critical point in the theatre's growth. MYT has outgrown the capacity at its current rental facility and must find a new home. "I know under Hollie's leadership MYT will reach new and exciting heights" says Darrell Rodenbaugh, President of the PCT/MYT Board of Directors. "She will establish a whole new standard of production and education for our offerings in this community."
