This delightful musical introduces a very special nanny who is "practically perfect in every way". She can make tidying up a magical experience. In fact she can make any endeavor or outing a magical experience. Audiences will be as delighted as her charges, the Banks children, when Mary Poppins arrives at 17 Cherry Lane.
This production is directed by James Laney with music direction by Becky King and Ray Staniszewski. This team has assembled a tremendously talented cast to fill the roles of this large cast. Denton theatre goers will recognize many faces, such as Beth Lipton in the title role (recently seen in DCT's Enchanted April). Other familiar players include Liz Millea, Kay Lamb, Sharon Barnhill, Bryson Beavers, Leigh Ann Stadt, Melissa Sims, Polly Maynard, Fred and Jo Cassell, and many more. DCT is also thrilled to welcome several newcomers to our stage. Among those are Walker Sims as the whimsical chimney sweep, Bert, and Scott Deck as the stern George Banks.
Art Direction is headed up by the incomparable Philip Lamb, whose projections and set design promise to transform the Campus stage into an environment where we can truly believe anything is possible. This show is sure to be "superclifragilisticexpialidocious" pleasing audience members aged 6 to 106. We even bet you will be tempted to "Step in Time" as you leave the theatre.
