Casa Mañana's President and Executive Producer Wally Jones is pleased to announce that Joe Sturgeon has joined the staff as the Director of Theatre for Youth.
This position will oversee the new Casa Mañana Performing Arts Conservatory (CPAC) and all education programs. The conservatory was previously known as Casa Mañana's Theatre School.
"Conservatory is the traditional name for schools that are dedicated to the arts," Sturgeon said. "We believe that as the premier professional theatre organization of Fort Worth we have a responsibility to work with the gifted and talented children of the area who have a dream of working on the stage and to prepare them and develop them so that those dreams have an opportunity to be realized."
Sturgeon is a professional actor, director and playwright with a 15 year background in education and theatre training. His modern adaptation of The Revenger's Tragedy written for The American College Theatre Festival, was recently selected to be performed at The Kennedy Center. He has additionally served as a casting associate for major regional, Off-Broadway and Broadway shows.
"I am truly thrilled that Joe has decided to join our team at Casa Mañana; his extensive background in theatre performance and education is going to be a tremendous asset to Casa Mañana," Jones said.
