Jeff Swearingen, voted BEST THEATER TEACHER (Best of Dallas 2016), has officially joined Dallas Academy of Music and Performing Arts (DAMPA) to direct the upcoming productions, Elf Jr. - The Musical and Heathers the Musical, High School Edition.
Students enrolled in the Fall semester Acting Program will have the opportunity to learn directly from Swearingen, who has performed on screens and stages around the globe.
Swearingen has taught young actors for over 15 years, including students at Dallas Children's Theater and Rhythmic Souls, to name a few. He is the co-founder of Fun House Theatre and Film, which has been in operation for 7 years. Swearingen is also a member of the group, THE VICTIMS, and is represented by Mary Collins Agency in Dallas.
In addition to accolades he earned for his roles in THE BOXER, THE GNADIGES FRAULIEN, and HELLO HUMAN FEMALE, Swearingen has also received: Best of Dallas BEST PLAYWRIGHT (2015), BEST DIRECTOR (2014); Dallas Observer MASTER MIND (for creating the next generation of artists); and multiple DFW CRITIC'S FORUM Awards.
