I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is the title that fairly captures the essence of this musical comedy. The dating and mating dance that American singles do provides fodder for this insightful parody. In the revue, directed by Erin Eder, one has to wonder, why the rush? The date, mate, and marry whirlwind is followed by two whiny children, and the weary familiarity of long-term wedded "bliss." However, it all becomes loads of fun with writer Joe DiPietro's comedic genius. The musical score by Jimmy Roberts, a graduate of the Manhattan School of music, is excellent as well.

The production is a first for Director Erin Eder, although she is by no means new to the theatre scene. Eder first appeared on the Katy Visual & Performing Arts stage as the ingénue, Hope Langston, in James McDonald's musical spoof, Something's Afoot. She also sang and danced her way through the Country Playhouse production, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Recently, Erin signed with Tate Music Group and recorded Break Through, a complete album featuring music written by local entertainer Randy Meadows.

The talented cast consists of Lauren Bowler, Lisa Connolly, Cory Kelley, Gregory Magyar, Chris Mason, Bethany Smith, and Brittney Thorne. All have impressive résumés and their talent brings professional-quality theatre within easy access of Katy residents. There's no need to fight the traffic on I-10 when you can mosey on over to Mason Road and experience a truly class act and get a healthy dose of comedic therapy.

Encore Players performs this laugh-out-loud comedy on Friday, September 23, at 8pm; Saturday, September 24, at 8pm and Sunday, September 25, at 2pm. The following weekend you can catch the show on Friday, September 30, at 8pm; Saturday, October 1, at 8pm; and Sunday, October 2, at 2pm. Tickets available at the door or on-line at www.kvpac.org.
