The final production of the 2013 Lake Country Playhouse season, "Fright in the Night," will open Friday at the Historic Select Theater in Mineola.

The play is a melodrama, and the audience is strongly encouraged to "boo" the villain whenever he does anything despicable, and to cheer on the hero at every opportunity according to event organizers.

The comedy, written by D. Chapelle, takes place in an old abandoned inn during the gangster era. Scheming criminals, damsels in distress and stolen loot abound during the evening's events.

The production is directed by Jeff D. Hurley, who also has a role on stage. Rounding out the case are Lanette Garza, Candace Brooks, Brett Davis, Ben Patrick and former Miss Mineola Maddie Wise.

Performances are Sept. 27-29 and Oct. 4-6. Friday and Saturday evening curtain is 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinee curtain is 2 p.m. The box office will open one hour prior to performance, and the doors will open 30 minutes prior.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more and reservations can be made by calling the box offi ce at 903-569-2300.

Lake Country Playhouse is a nonprofit community theatre, whose goal is to provide an entertaining arts experience for citizens of Wood and surrounding counties.
