Denton Community Theatre (DCT) is thrilled to present our next POINTBank Black Box Theatre show, Art. This production is directed by Sherri Small and features a cast of three. DCT is pleased to welcome newcomers to the DCT stage, Shane Hurst and Kirk Holland, and are very glad to welcome back DCT veteran Damon Wadyko.
Described as wildly funny, this is the story of Serge, a divorced dermatologist who has purchased an abstract painting - white with white lines. His friend, Marc, an engineer who prefers more traditional art, thinks it is a ridiculous joke. Serge insists that Marc is not qualified to make a judgement. Mutual friend Yvan, less successful than his friends and eager to please, claims to like the work when asked by Serge, but confesses that he neither knows, nor cares to know, anything about art. He seeks to make peace between the two, which serves only to annoy both Serge and Marc. The fight is on. Will the friendship survive? For mature audiences.
Performances are August 5, 6 at 7:30 pm and August 7 at 2:00 pm at DCT's POINTBank Black Box Theatre located at 318 E. Hickory, Denton.
