Dallas Theater Center will close its 2014-2015 season with Kate Hamill's fresh and witty adaptation of Sense and Sensibility, Jane Austen's classic romantic novel. Sense and Sensibility is directed by Sarah Rasmussen and begins with previews on Thursday, April 23 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, May 24. Tickets to Sense and Sensibility are on sale now at www.DallasTheaterCenter.org.

"I have always been a fan of Jane Austen and was excited when Kevin asked me to direct this classic at Dallas Theater Center," said Rasmussen. "As I tend to do with all productions I work on, I asked myself, 'Why are we telling this story now?' What I ultimately discovered in Kate Hamill's adaptation is very witty, and tailored for a modern audience. Hamill doesn't shy away from exploring the cost at which we find our happiness. Life isn't easy and love is even harder, but the Dashwood sisters hold out for an equal. That is a story that transcends time and bears reselling today"

Scandalous secrets, shocking betrayals, dashing suitors and devious rivals are brought to glorious life in Hamill's playful new adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved novel, which premiered in New York to rave reviews last fall. At the emotional heart of this classic romantic comedy are the marital hopes, unpredictable misadventures and sincere, sisterly bonds of Elinor and Marianne Dashwood. Audiences will love Elinor's common sense or Marianne's impulsive passion as they search for the key to marriage and happiness. Hamill's fresh female take on the classic story is certain to become an

instant treasure for Austen aficionados of all ages.
