Her father was a preacher who ruled the house like a baritone opera singer in a Greek tragedy. Her mother was a prostitute who accompanied his traumatic melody in the key of pain. Eve danced through the emotional turbulence of her childhood in the rhythm of violence and confusion.

"Kill Me Softly" is a beautiful tragedy about a young woman's quest for love and forgiveness in The Shadows of death.

The list of characters is as follows:

Eve: A sexually-abused female with a distorted view of love, violence and sex

Naylon: Eve's childhood lvoer and friend (ALREADY CAST)

Logan: A detective investigating Eve's assault case and somehow spiritually connected with Eve

The Reverend: Eve's stepfather (ALREADY CAST)

Mother: Eve's mother, a former prostitute and drug abuser

Rena: A gay bartender with a sexual past with Eve (ALREADY CAST)

Buck: A roughneck who hangs out at the bar

Clara: A waitress searching for love between orders

Actors/actresses must be comfortable with adult themes and language. Non-traditional, multicultural casting is highly desirable. Actresses with jazz/modern dance abilities interested in the roles of Eve and Mother are a plus.

The show is scheduled for July 2009 at the Irving Arts Center located at 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving, Texas.
