Circle Theatre's 32nd Season continues with Exit, Pursued by a Bear, a revenge comedy by Lauren Gunderson.

Krista Scott (director) states, "When a contemporary play uses a classic Shakespearean stage direction as its title, followed by 'A Revenge Comedy,' you reckon it may be kinda quirky. Our young protagonist, Nan, and redneck husband, Kyle, clearly have an unhealthy marriage, but that's not very funny; it is the choices Nan and her cohorts make to rectify it that continually surprise us. Lauren Gunderson's combination of snappy, hilarious dialogue, contemporary media references and classical theatrical devices creates pertinence, poignancy, and plenty of LOL (laugh out loud) comedy."

Preview performances are Thursday, August 15; Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17 (matinee). The production of?cially opens Saturday, August 17, at 8:00pm, immediately followed by a post-show party sponsored by The Original Cupcakery and Flowers To Go. Circle's production, directed by Krista Scott, features Duke Anderson* as Kyle Carter, Jerry Downey** as Simon Beaufort, Kristi Mills** as Sweetheart, and Taylor Staniforth* as Nan Carter. Production team members include Sara Harris* (Stage Manager), Clare Floyd DeVries (Set Design), Meredith Hinton (Props), David H. M. Lambert (Sound Design), John Leach (Lighting Design), and Drenda Lewis (Costumes).
