Previews begin January 26th with Secrets of a Soccer Mom. Circle Theatre's preview performances are Thursday, January 26; Friday, January 27; and Saturday, January 28 (matinee).

The production officially opens Saturday evening, January 28 at 8:00 pm, followed by a post-show party sponsored by Oliver's Fine Foods and The Cupcakery. Under the direction of one of Robin Armstrong, Secrets of a Soccer Mom features Angela Allen (Nancy); D'Lytha Myers* (Alison); and Heidi Wermuth* (Lynn). Production team members for Secrets of a Soccer Mom are: Karima Abdulla*, Stage Manager; Clare Floyd DeVries, Set Designer; Robin Armstrong, Costume Designer; David H. M. Lambert, Sound Designer; John Leach, Lighting Designer; and Brad Jackson, Props Master.

This engaging comedy features three women who reluctantly take the field in a "mothers vs. sons" soccer game. The plan is to let the children win, but as the game unfolds, the ladies become obsessed with scoring points. In the end, they discover that true victory lies in achieving a better understanding of themselves and the changes they need to make in their lives.

Secrets of a Soccer Mom opened off-Broadway at the Snapple Theater Center on March 5, 2008. It was produced by A-Frame Productions with direction by Judith Ivey. The play was originally produced as "Soccer Moms" at Fleetwood Stage Company in New Rochelle, New York. Circle's Executive Director, Rose Pearson, says, "Secrets of a Soccer Mom is a great example of how to name a play. The show's title, alone, automatically generates interest. Plenty of people identify with 'soccer moms' and are curious about what their secrets may be!"

Approximate running time for the show is 1:45 hours, with intermission.

Playwright Kathleen Clark has had much recognition as an emerging playwright and has twice been selected to have her plays produced at the Eugene O'Neill Playwrights Conference. Recently her plays have been produced off Broadway and in regional theatres throughout the country. Clark's other works for the stage include Southern Comforts, The Bewitching Hour, and Banner. She currently lives with her husband and their three children in Leonia, New Jersey…and is, coincidentally, a "soccer mom".

Director Robin Armstrong returns to Circle Theatre to direct the first show of the Theatre's 31st season. Robin most recently directed Circle's productions of Seven in One Blow, Becky's New Car and Boeing-Boeing, and Collin Theatre Center's production of Hello Human Female. In 2010, Robin directed Circle Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Bach at Leipzig, which garnered multiple Dallas Critics' Forum Awards for Outstanding Direction, Outstanding Creative Contribution (for fight choreography and costume design), and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Cast.
