Casa Mañana's Children's Playhouse presents a new, bolder, funnier retelling of the fairy tale classic Sleeping Beauty, September 26 – October 12, 2008 at Casa Mañana Theatre.

Critically acclaimed local artists Brad Jackson and Alex Vorse expand on the usual concept of the beautiful princess, the disgruntled fairy, a deep sleep, and a kiss by prince charming. Their new rendition puts an unusual spin on the familiar tale by adding a materialistic land that is inundated with cell phones, lollypods and celebrity obsession, and a princess who pricks her finger on a record player needle. Come be enchanted by the staging of this magical fairy tale.

The performance schedule is: Friday, September 26 at 7:00pm; Saturday, September 27 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm; Sunday, September 28 at 2:00pm; Friday, October 3 at 7:00pm; Saturday, October 4 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm; Sunday, October 5 at 2:00pm; Friday, October 10 at 7:00pm; Saturday, October 11 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm; and Sunday, October 12 at 2:00pm. This show is suitable for all audiences.
