Casa Mañana will break ground in March 2017 for a capital improvement that will include new administrative offices, a permanent storage facility and the renovation of the original lobby into an educational space and cabaret theatre that will seat 50-60 patrons.
In a statement on the project, President and Executive Producer Wally Jones said:
"I am thrilled that Casa is in a position to expand. These additions will not only increase our education initiatives, but allow us to better serve the community of North Texas. We greatly appreciate the City of Fort Worth and our donors for recognizing the need for the arts and for the belief in the mission of Casa Mañana."
Over the past several years, Casa Mañana has experienced exponential growth across its programs. Season Ticket holders have increased for both the Broadway and Children's Theatre series. Enrollment in many of the Performing Arts Conservatory (CPAC) theatre programs are at capacity and have significant waiting lists. This growth has required the staff to expand to meet the needs of the theatre. The creation of an additional educational space and cabaret theatre will allow Casa Mañana to increase its outreach and programs for the community.
The project will be designed by Bennett, Benner Partners. The new 2100 square foot office space will hold eleven offices and a conference room. A 1500 square foot storage space will be added on the south side of the building. The original lobby, which currently houses the administrative offices, will be renovated into an additional instruction space, cabaret theatre and VIP donor reception area. The space will seat 50-60 patrons and include a small kitchen for catering preparation and a small stage for performances. The project will be partially funded by the City of Fort Worth with the balance to be raised by Casa Mañana through private donations.
