:The true message of this show is that of a community of people coming together in love and acceptance through faith and understanding. That sense of community is absolutely paramount to Godspell and without it, the essence of the show is lost. Therefore, we approached our production as a social experience instead of just another show. We wanted each and every one of our audience members to be able to connect with someone in the cast so we sought out a cast that would represent the community at large since that's who this show is for; the DFW community. Therefore, I put a note in my audition notice that read "*Looking to cast a diverse group of 10-16 actors. Everyone shall initially be considered for every role." And I stuck to this. Our production soon became a movement for us. We pushed that the message of love exceeds any preconceived notions of race, gender, or status and can be shared with anyone willing to open their hearts with us. This is a message that we here at CORP hold to firmly. This experience is as such because we not only invite our audience to join in our community of love but we also challenge our community at large to be better. We do not stand idly by in the wake of persecution but rather hold each other accountable where accountability is needed. This production of Godspell, is a one of a kind because it takes place right here, right now and there is a place for everyone in DFW in it. It's a celebration of how far we've come as a community and how far we're willing to push forward. "
