Legendary Broadway star Betty Buckley will be offering her Song Interpretation & Monologue Workshop in a Spring Intensive at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth beginning March 12. The classes will focus on preparations for Story Songs III, concerts to be presented in June, starring participants in the workshop.
The Workshop includes high school age, amateur and professional singers and actors. Auditors are welcome and will participate in all of the group exercises taught by Buckley. Full participants will also do one on one work with Buckley directing their songs or monologues.
Buckley is especially proud of her high school students, all of whom, through the preparation work they have done in her past Workshops, have been admitted into the universities & performing arts conservatories of their choice. "It gives me such joy to assist the growth of my younger students and to facilitate the dreams of my mature students to step into their true potential. It is my privilege to pass along the tools given to me by my great teachers," Buckley said.
Actress/Singer Buckley, a film, television and concert/recording artist, has been teaching in her hometown of Ft. Worth for the past several years. She shares her expertise and guides her students through a methodology that facilitates audience connection through songs and monologues. Her emotional connection to songs and audiences is renowned, and that very connection is at the heart of what Ms. Buckley imparts to her students.
The Workshop consists of 18 classes beginning on March 12. Classes begin at 6:30pm and are held at the Museum of Modern Art in Fort Worth. An accompanist will be provided.
