Each year, students from across the country participate in the Junior Theatre Festival, known as the "world's largest celebration of young people and musical theatre." Bringing together students, teachers, and Broadway professionals under one roof, the Junior Theatre Festival hosts both East Coast and West Coast activities over an annual three-day-span in January and February.

One of the many programs sponsored by the Junior Theatre Festival is the creation of DVDs designed to teach dances to schools and organizations that produce the popular "junior" and school editions of Broadway's biggest hits. Out of 1,000 hopeful DVD dancers from across the country, three DFW talents have been selected to participate in the filming of iTheatrics educational choreography DVDs this year. Alina Jennings of Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts has been cast in the filming of both CHICAGO: HIGH SCHOOL EDITION and NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT: HIGH SCHOOL EDITION; Nathan Salter, a student of Missouri State University from Fort Worth, in HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL JUNIOR; and David Midkiff, a homeschooled student of Grandview, in the DVDs of FOOTLOOSE JUNIOR and SISTER ACT JUNIOR.

To raise funds necessary to cover the costs of their travel and housing associated with the filming, the trio will take the stage at Plaza Theatre for a one-night-only cabaret on Sunday, June 10th at 3:00 pm. Admission to the event is free, but donations are welcome. Donations are also being accepted via their fundraising page: https://www.gofundme.com/nyc-choreo-dvds.
