This July, the award-winning Manhattan acting studio A Class Act NY is offering two unique acting camps for young actors, ages 7-18.
A Class Act NY is hosting Broadway, TV, and film actor, Ashley Kate Adams (LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, RULES OF COOL, THE UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT) for two camps on acting: the musical theatre camp, Broadway Bound and and an on-camera Disney and Nickelodeon camp, Lights, Camera, Action!
In the Broadway Bound Camp, campers will learn song-and-dance numbers from some of Broadway's biggest hits. In addition, campers will take a variety of workshops through the week, where they will learn improvisation, stage combat, intro to Shakespeare, audition technique, Broadway dance and stage makeup! Finally, on the last day of camp, actors will perform in an Off-Off-Broadway showcase at the JCC theatre for friends and family.
Students who are more interested in TV and film will love the Lights, Camera, Action Camp! Campers will learn the ins and outs of on-camera acting, how to nail auditions, and how to perform in commercials, Nickelodeon, and Disney shows! Lights, Camera, Action Campers will also participate in workshops in topics like commercial acting, how to perform in sitcoms and dramas, voice-over acting, and how to self-tape for on-camera auditions. On the last day of camp, actors will perform Disney and Nickelodeon scenes in front of a live "studio" audience of adoring fans - their family and friends!
Broadway Bound Camp is for actors ages 7-18 and runs July 11 - July 15. Lights, Camera, Action Camp is for actors 8-18 and runs July 18 - July 22. Both camps go from 9am to 4pm at the JCC of Dallas.
