Amphibian Stage Productions will continue its twelfth season with the regional premiere of Vigil by Morris Panych. Andrew Volkoff directs Elly Lindsay and Jonathan Fielding in this dark comedy that runs from September 21 to October 2 at the Hardy & BetTy Sanders Theatre in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.

About the Play
In this deliciously dark comedy a self-involved bachelor arrives to care for the dying aunt he hasn't seen since childhood, only to find that she's "not quite dead yet." As her health improves against all odds - and against his hopes - their relationship evolves in unexpected ways. A tour de force from the creator of the hit play The Overcoat, Vigil offers an uncanny balance of gallows humor and grave ruminations on family, identity, and the human condition.

Vigil has played at numerous theaters around the world, including the DR2 Theater in New York, Wyndham's Theatre in London's West End, and Théâtre La Bruyère in Paris. Written by the winner of two Governor General's Awards, Vigil has been hailed by critics as "deliciously mischievous" (Time Out New York) and "wickedly dark... hilarious, quirky, and heartfelt" (Variety).

Director Andrew Volkoff, who previously directed Amphibian's staged reading of Woman Before a Glass in 2010, returns to helm this main stage production. Elly Lindsay and Amphibian Stage Productions Artistic Associate Jonathan Fielding star as "Grace" and "Kemp," respectively. An Artistic Associate since 2001, Mr. Fielding has performed in several Amphibian productions, including Below the Belt, Leonce and Lena, 4 Edges, and The True History of the Tragic Life and Triumphant Death of Julia Pastrana, the Ugliest Woman in the World. Elly Lindsay is making her Amphibian Stage Productions debut.

Vigil plays in Fort Worth September 21 to October 2, with Wednesday performances at 7:30pm, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances at 8:00pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $15 for students.
