Amphibian Stage Productions, A Contemporary Theatre in the Near Southside neighborhood of Fort Worth, announced today it will be implementing an exclusive discount for military veterans on tickets to Main Stage productions, National Theatre Live screenings, Metamorphosis performances, and Phib Comedy nights.
Active duty and retired military, veterans, and National Guard and Reserve are eligible for the discount on tickets. Veteran discounts are available every day on regularly-priced tickets.
"We strive to make a positive difference in our community and look forward to providing a cultural home to our veterans and active-duty military in appreciation of their service. We are excited about this first of many initiatives to serve those who have done so much for us," said Kathleen Culebro, Artistic Director of Amphibian Stage Productions.
Amphibian's second Main Stage production of 2018, Cry Havoc! is written and performed by Stephan Wolfert, US Army veteran and founder of DE-CRUIT, an "interdisciplinary program designed to help military veterans overcome the obstacles of transitioning from military service back into their communities" (www.decruit.org) through therapeutic workshops which utilize Shakespearean monologue as a foundation to guide veterans through expressing their experiences.
Wolfert's visit to Fort Worth will begin a long-term collaboration between the theatre and local veteran service organizations. Amphibian is hosting a Holiday Reception for veteran service organizations on December 14 at 6:30pm at their theatre to share more about these new initiatives.
Amphibian's Tad-Poles stilt walking troupe will be walking with the Military Veteran Peer Network in the Fort Worth Veteran's Day parade this Saturday, November 11.
Discounted tickets for veterans will be $18 for Main Stage productions (regularly $33), and $12 for National Theatre Live, Metamorphosis, and Phib Comedy (regularly $20-$25).
