Performing Arts Fort Worth welcomes A Classical Encounter with Savion Glover to Bass Performance Hall on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $22 and are on sale NOW!

Famed actor and dancer Gregory Hines called his onetime student Savion Glover, "possibly the best tap dancer that ever lived." Glover has certainly lived up to that description. Over the course of a career that has spanned nearly 30 years, the New Jersey native has appeared on Broadway, the small screen and the big screen, bringing his funk-inspired style of tap to a whole new audience.
Glover is best known for his Tony Award-winning work on the Broadway sensation Bring in ‘Da Noize, Bring in ‘Da Funk. Of the show, The New York Times proclaimed, "As dance, as musical, as theater, as art, as history and entertainment, there's nothing Noise/Funk cannot and should not do."

Glover made his Broadway debut, at the age of 10, with The Tap Dance Kid. Since then, he has been a pop culture mainstay, appearing on stage in Broadway productions such as Jelly's Last Jam and Noise/Funk; in films such as Tap and Bamboozled; and on TV. He has also choreographed pieces for HBO's The Rat Pack and ABC's Monday Night Football and a PBS special on President Bill Clinton. More recently, he made a guest appearance on Dancing with the Stars.
