The Year of Magical Thinking will star stage, movie and television veteran actor Linda Purl. Adapted for the stage by Joan Didion from her memoir, The Year of Magical Thinking is both a love letter to her daughter, who died just before the book was published in 2005, and a tribute to an extraordinary marriage
Directed by Jenny Sullivan, this stunning tour-de-force one-woman show will be the multi-talented Ms. Purl's first appearance at the Laguna Playhouse. Didion’s piece is a haunting and lyrical story of one woman coming to grips with loss, laced with Joan Didion’s particular brand of humor and wit, the The New York Times called the play “moving and elegiac.”
