YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN is in the Round at John Glenn High School Image

A fresh, immersive, in-the-round staging of Charles Schulz's beloved comic comes to life in Clark Gesner's classic musical, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown presented at John Glenn HS in Norwalk, CA.

The whole gang is here: bossy Lucy is hopelessly in love with piano prodigy Schroeder who doesn't give her the time of day, perfectionist Sally is still mocking blanket-toting Linus, Snoopy is in the doghouse, and "blockhead," himself, Charlie Brown, is in rare form. Brief vignettes span the months from Valentine's Day to Beethoven Day, from wild optimism to utter despair. In this revised version, with additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and dialogue by Michael Mayer, the sweet, joyful innocence of the Peanuts gang is maintained, but a fresh insouciance and playfulness is revealed.

The cast features Ubaldo Ortiz as Charlie Brown, Brooke Emmallah as Lucy, Erick Yanez as Snoopy, Gabriella Estrada as Sally, Isaac Verduzco as Linus, and James Gonzales as Schroeder. The ensemble is more prominent in the action playing a variety of roles in this production and they are: Justin Ayon, Mariah Delgadillo, Mia Delgadillo, Natalie Luna, Angelica Moreno, Brandon Nunez, and Jasmen Torres Gutierrez.

The colorful production for all ages is directed by Jonathan D. Mesisca and choreographed by Miguel A. Flores. Nataly Fuerte serves as Assistant Director. Joseph Nunez is Stage Manager. Scenic Design is by Gustavo Ortiz;  Comic Design by Wendy Garcia; Lighting Design by Jeremy Alonso; Sound Technicians are Andrew Gonzalez, Christian Rosas, and Damian Saucedo; Costume Designer is Rebecca Ayala; Properties Manager is Cristoval Sandoval. The production is entirely fueled by the teamwork of the JGHS Drama Club.

The show performs April 11-12 at 7pm, April 13 at 2pm, and April 17, 18, 19 at 7pm.

All tickets are $8.

John Glenn HS is located at 13520 Shoemaker Ave, Norwalk, CA 90650.
