THE PRODUCERS opens on September 27 at Garden Grove's historic GEM THEATRE presented by the award-winning One More Productions - one of Southern California's leading musical theater companies.
Based on the 1968 film, Mel Brooks's musical The Producers is a laugh-out-loud, outrageous, crowd-pleasing farce that has been a smash hit since its 2001 debut. Fading Broadway producer Max Bialystock is desperate to get to the top of his profession again, and he find an unlikely ally in mousy accountant Leo Bloom, who hypothesizes that one could make far more money with a flop of a show than with a hit.
With dozens of big and bit parts alike, no shortage of show-stopping musical numbers, and Brooks' signature humor keeping audiences in stitches, The Producers is definitely far from a flop.
The cast includes Damien Lorton as Max Bialystock; Alex Bodrero as Leo Bloom; Claire Perry as Ulla; Robert Edward as Roger De Bris; Chris Harper as Franz Liebkind; and Peter Crisafulli as Carmen Ghia. The Producers is directed by Damien Lorton and Nicole Cassesso.
This is the first time in the history of this Production Company that both co-founders are co-directing a show together. This musical is backed up by a 15-piece orchestra on stage, with over 200 costumes, and a new $150,000 lighting system brought in just for this show.
Performances run from Thursday, September 27 through Sunday, October 21 at The GEM THEATRE. Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm, at the Gem Theatre in Garden Grove, CA. On Saturday, October 13, there will be a matinee show at 2 pm. For ticket information, visit www.onemoreproductions.com or call 714-741-9550 X 221.
