Babe shot her husband because he looked funny, Meg just hit town from Hollywood and a nervous breakdown, Lenny's fast becoming an old maid and today her pet horse got hit by lightning. They're the Magrath sisters of Hazelhurst, Mississippi, and they're the invention of SCR favorite Beth
Henley, who won the Pulitzer Prize for this play. She may pile heaps of problems upon her heroines but does so with love, compassion and a prodigious sense of humor-and then brings out the chocolate cake and lemonade to get them through it all. You'll want to sit right down at the kitchen table and share their laughter.

An enchanting story from olden times comes to life as a modern-day fairy tale-through the magic of theatre! Megan and Ben are two kids alone in the world. She earns pennies as a human statue-painted silver-while her little brother draws marvelous portraits with only a stubby pencil. One fateful day, his artwork catches the eye of the malicious Mrs. Crawly, who has a scheme to make millions with a magic paintbrush. When she captures Ben and puts him to work, it's up to Megan to save the day. You'll cheer the way she comes through!

The young lovers have dispatched themselves with poison and knife, and the curtain has come down on Romeo and Juliet. Saddened by this tragedy, the Capulets and Montagues declare peace between their families. But the kids are still feuding. Benvolio (Romeo's best friend) loves Rosaline (Romeo's girlfriend before he me Juliet), but she still pines for Romeo-and she wants revenge. Filled with love, laughter and swordplay, this sequel is based on an original idea by Keira Knightley and written by her mother, with thanks to William Shakespeare.

PROFESSIONAL ACTOR TRAINING
Professional Actor Training is a nationally renowned eight-week intensive summer program for serious acting students 18 and over. Now in its 39th year, the program puts the finishing touches on training for careers in theatre, film and television. Its goals are: Evaluate current acting abilities and establish goals for future development, distill experience and training into a solid foundation for a career as an actor and offer practical insight into the business of theatre, film and television from casting directors, talent agents and actors.
Tuition: $2,250

June 14 - August 3
ADULT ACTING CLASSES / SUMMER SESSION
Students 18 and over choose from a variety of classes developed to suit individual pace and interests. Curriculum ranges from Improvisation to Fundamentals of Acting to Actors Workshop for career-minded students. Most sessions also include classes in Playwriting, Acting for the Camera and Singing for the Actor. Classes meet weekly 7-10 pm. Call (714) 708-5510 for schedule.

July 26 - Aug 7 or August 9 - 21SUMMER ACTING WORKSHOP FOR KIDS AND TEENSYoung people (grades 3-12) who are newcomers to SCR's acting programs have the opportunity to get their first taste of theatre in the Summer Acting Workshop with two sessions to choose from either July 26 - August 7 or August 9 - 21. After completion of their session, students have the opportunity to enter the year-round Kids and Teen Acting Classes. Following year II of the program, students may audition for the SCR Players, an advanced ensemble group whose training culminates with public performances each spring in the Nicholas Studio. All sessions are held in SCR's Education facilities within the Folino Theatre Center.

August 9 - 21SUMMER Musical Theatre WorksHOPOpen to all (grades 7-12)-from beginners to young pros! Learn how to audition and prepare for a musical role. Learn what it means to "act" a song and "sing" a scene.
