Segerstrom Center to Welcome Lily Tomlin This Fall

An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin brings the award-winning comedienne and one of the world's most beloved entertainers back to Segerstrom Center for the Arts for one night only on Saturday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Segerstrom Hall. Tomlin, who is currently in production on the hit series, Grace and Frankie, co-starring Jane Fonda, returns to the Center in her solo show that features her hilarious brand of stand-up comedy and delves into some of the most iconic Tomlin roles from her extraordinary 40-year career. Immediately following her show, there will be a Question & Answer segment with the audience.

Tickets for An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin start at $49 and will go on sale Sunday, June 12 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available online at SCFTA.org, at the Box Office at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa or by calling (714) 556-2787. Lily Tomlin is one of America's most beloved and respected comediennes. She continues to venture across an ever-widening range of media, starring in television, theater, motion pictures, animation and video. Throughout her extraordinary career, Tomlin has received numerous awards, including the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2003 and, in December 2014, the prestigious Kennedy Center Honor in Washington DC. She has also received seven Emmys; a Tony Award® for her one-woman Broadway show, Appearing Nitely; a second Tony for Best Actress, a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics' Circle Award for her one-woman performance in Jane Wagner's The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe; a CableAce Award for executive producing the film adaptation of The Search; a Grammy for her comedy album This is a Recording, and two Peabody Awards - the first for the ABC television special, Edith Ann's Christmas: Just Say Noe?l, and the second for narrating and executive producing the HBO film, The Celluloid Closet. She also received Grammy nominations for her albums Modern Scream, And That's the Truth and On Stage.

Tomlin has appeared in over thirty movies and recently starred in the acclaimed Paul Weitz, movie, Grandma, specifically written for Tomlin. She continues to make appearances around the nation and, in 2006, took her classic characters to Australia for shows in Sydney and Melbourne. In November 2009, Tomlin debuted in Las Vegas at The MGM Grand Hotel in her new show titled, Not Playing with a Full Deck. She returned there for two engagements in 2010. In 2011 and to Australia for several concert appearances and the Mardi Gras Festival. She appeared with Jane Fonda at the May 2015 TED Talks.
