Segerstrom Center Announces September Line-Up of FREE Events on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza  Image

Fall into fun on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza at Segerstrom Center for the Arts! Come enjoy the start of a new season of FREE activities and entertainment for the whole family. Begin by celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with two special events: outREACH with local boxing star Alexis Rocha on Saturday, September 1 and El Grito - A Celebration of Mexican Independence on Friday, September 14.

Celebrate National Arts & Education Week (September 9 - 15) at Beckman Arts & Science Family Festival presented in collaboration with the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation on Saturday, September 15. Bring the whole family along for FREE entertainment, interactive exhibits and hands-on activities featuring: Doktor Kaboom!, Dino Encounters, Discovery Cube of Orange County, The MoonRays and many more! And have your photo taken with PBS SoCal's Ready Jet Go!

On September 29, dance the night away with local band Undecided Future as they perform live on the Argyros Stage. Having shared the stage with Jason Derulo (winning Ryan Seacrest's "Best.Cover.Ever." YouTube competition) and taken notes from superstars such as Justin Timberlake, Jason Derulo, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Michael Jackson, James Brown and 98 Degrees, Undecided Future is now front and center and impacting audiences with their unique vocals, dance moves and upbeat vibe.

Previously called the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Segerstrom Center is Orange County's largest non-profit arts organization. The Center presents a broad range of programming for audiences of all ages, including international ballet and dance, national tours of top Broadway shows, jazz and cabaret, contemporary artists, classical music performed by renowned chamber orchestras and ensembles, familyfriendly programming and free performances on the Center's Julianne and George Argyros Plaza, including free movie screenings, live performances, special holiday events and festivals to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the county.

Segerstrom Center is a leader among the nation's performing arts centers for providing education programs designed to inspire young people through the arts. These reach hundreds of thousands of students each year in five Southern California counties. Community engagement programs developed through the Center for Dance and Innovation and Center Without Boundaries also connect the Center more comprehensively with Orange County's many diverse communities. The CDI supports flagship artistic programming and a wide range of projects that celebrate innovation, nurture creativity and engage audiences of the future. It is home to the American Ballet William J. Gillespie School and the School of Dance and Music for Children with Disabilities. The Center Without Boundaries develops partnerships with non-cultural organizations to help them in their own efforts to respond to the ever-changing needs of the community.
